They say children are the fruit and happiness of every marriage, the coming of every child to the world brings lots of joy and happiness to every couple.
It doesn't matter if it is the first or second, the excitement remains the same and it calls for a big celebration.
Phone rang... George picked up the phone and the noise of celebration fill his ears.
Caller: Congratulations sir, your wife just put to bed.
George: Wow. Thanks a lot, I will join her once I get back from work but can I talk to my wife right now?
Caller: She is still resting and even reluctant to take the phone, you will probably talk to her when you come later in the evening.
George: I know why, help me take good care of her till I come around. Thanks
Caller: okay sir, you can count on us for that. Oh I forgot to mention that it is a bouncing baby... (George drops the call)
He immediately ended the call without hearing what the caller has to say.
His expression showed that he wasn't excited and his friends quickly stepped into the conversation.
Dee: Why are you not happy George? Your wife just put you to bed, this is good and it calls for a big celebration.
George: Nothing is worth celebrating Dee, don't you get it. It is a baby girl again.
Dee: So?
George: This is our fourth child and I am yet to have a male child.

I have always wanted two kids in my whole life and I want them to be successful enough to influence society positively but now I have four without a male and I will plan to have more until I get a male son.
I want sons that I can train to any extent they want to go in life because they will be the ones to continue bearing my name even when I am long gone.
The issue of discrimination in child gender should have been a thing of the past but to my surprise, people still see it as a priority to have a particular sex. Despite the high impact of civilization in the world today, it baffles me to still some tribes and races are still stuck in that belief of having particular sex at all cost.

My mom always wanted a female child because she believes that male children really don't have time for their parents when they start their own family and it made her have four boys because she kept hoping for a female child.
In the end, she gave up on her mission and today she is one of the happiest mothers for having only boys.

This issue is one of the things that promotes overpopulation and poverty in our society today, people go on having excess kids they can not cater to all because they want particular gender of the child. A child is a child, we so much put limitations on a particular gender that's why we end up becoming a baby factory just to get another gender.
Who says a male child can't assist their parents at home?
Who says a female child can't make the family proud?
The way you train your child will be the result you get in the future, if you don't teach your male how to do chores because they are male, you will bear the consequences because they won't assist when you need them and if you think a female can not be as successful as male, you decide to limit her education -you will bear the consequences as well.
It is high time we educate people on the habit of discriminating against a particular gender in children, be it male or female they can become whatever you dream of if you train them and put them on the right path.
To be candid, the men are the real enforcer behind this issue and I feel bad because women sometimes go through the labor pain multiple times just to make their men happy and some women have lost their lives in the process of childbearing. The era when females are treated as inferior is gone because we have seen lots of women hold powerful positions in the world today, they have gone as far as even reaching the position of president in some countries and they are doing well.
They are doing and achieving things that even males won't do, it is important we accept any gender that comes when we start having children. It is not the fault of the woman or the woman because our offspring can't be predicted, we can't choose which gender we want. Aside from that, we must consider the health of the mother while bearing children and also the effect of having excess children on the economy of our respective countries.
A child's gender doesn't have any limitation on how great he or she will be in life.
Any child is a gift and is God's creation no matter the gender.
