The space marriage proposal.

Marilyn's social life has been messed up after her last relationship didn't end well with Bob; he dumped her for her best friend because Merilyn had a very busy lifestyle, she is the perfect example to describe a career woman.

She went to grab snacks and drinks for the weekend, Merilyn barely cooked not because she doesn't know how to but because she doesn't have time for it. She works with a marketing firm, she became the pillar of the company due to her dedication and she has too many expectations of her.

Merilyn was carrying the shopping basket around the mall to see if there were things she still needs when she bumped into George, they were high school friends but lost contact.

She couldn't even recognize George, he had grown beards and it completely made him different. She was still apologizing and trying to him pick up his things when George mentioned her name, she paused for a moment and slowly looked up.

"Hi, sorry I don't seem to remember your face but you definitely look familiar to me." Merilyn said as she handed George the things she picked on the floor.

George adjusted his glasses and reminded her of high school, she was gradually recalling the memory and when she did, Merilyn screamed not minding she was in a public place.

They hugged each other, they were happy seeing each other, and just went straight to the cafeteria in the mall to grab drinks and talk. They laughed and chatted like the good old days, George eventually became the astronaut he had always talked about in high school.

Merilyn forgot her schedule for the first time in many years, she was happy reconnecting with an old friend. They had to go their separate ways after 3hrs of catching up with themselves, Merilyn wished she could stay longer. They exchanged contacts just to keep in touch and hang out some other time; it was an awesome reunion for both of them.

They talked on the phone several times and hang out a lot, George asked Merilyn out a few months later but she wasn't ready for another heartbreak. It was a long time ago but the scars were still fresh in her heart, she turned him down but after a few months of George's persistence, she agreed to start something up with George.

Their relationship was smooth and George was perfect for her. He never complained about time because he was always busy as well, he loved her for being dedicated to her job and it looked like they had a bright future together.

Exactly a year after they started the relationship, George called Merilyn late in the night while he was at work. He said that night was a special one for him and he would love her to come over to his place of work at the rocket research center.

It was about 3hrs drive from her home, she wouldn't be able to go because she had a stressful day. George sent one of the air force officers to go get her and it was a smooth ride for her all through the woods to the rocket center on the outskirt of the city, she thought about a lot of things as she look at the tiny lights that looked like stars from afar.

She reached the rocket center and surprisingly, she met George suited up and preparing to go to space. She was surprised because she thought they will spend time together at the military facility, she felt disappointed but her mood lightened up when a female air force led her away to a room.

Merilyn freshened up and was handed a space suit, she was surprised because she didn't comprehend what was happening. She was helped to put everything on and she looked like a veteran astronaut, she was eventually taken to George and they both climbed into a rocket.

She asked where they were going, and George told her, "to the space". The rocket was launched and they were in space after some time, Merilyn didn't believe she was floating in space with George.

While she was staring at the universe, George was trying to make her read what was written on his suit but she was completely carried away. Merilyn was floating when she heard a tearing sound, it was her suit. The oxygen in her suit escaped and she was about to choke when she heard a voice saying "madam, we are here already", she opened her eyes and was confused as she rubbed her face.

"Wasn't I in space just now", she asked. The air force man smiled and replied, "it's been a long ride ma".

She came out of the car and saw George suited up. "Tell me this is not happening," she said as she walk up to George.

He took her to a hall and soon the place was lighted up, it was a virtual space room and it looked like they were in space.

Merilyn held George tightly and whispered to him, I had a dream on my way here. George told her, "we can talk about that later but please enjoy the moment".

They dance for a while to the sweet music coming from a speaker in the room and soon, George went on his knee. He brought out a ring and asked Merilyn,"will you marry me?"

Merilyn was surprised and screamed "yes", she didn't believe it but it was a perfect proposal.

They got married a few months later and lived happily ever after.
