Sometimes it can be tiresome to repeat things, but this is my opinion and perception about this post, which can accept all kinds of answers, whether for or against, after all, it would be boring if we were all the same, we are not robots and yet...
Well, humanity has evolved a lot since the 20th century, especially in the last 50 years regarding technological advances. Regarding entertainment, the main point of this article, the first great means of mass entertainment were the RADIO and the gramophone, both with full function for audio, if you ask what the second is, it was the first device where recorded music was heard. and how was it? You'll see what it's like if you see the award given by the Grammys= Gramophone, an important base for musical diffusion.

It would not be until the middle of the 20th century that visual and audio media would already exist that would change the world completely, with the arrival of television. Although decades before the audience appreciated the first cinematographic works, this change made many families have their homemade box, which to this day continues to be essential in each home, with its respective evolution.
This immediately replaced radio as the first great medium and everything indicated that TV on open air and then via satellite would control the media for a long time, perhaps it will reach the year 3000 like Futurama to continue ruling.... but evolution friends, that turn everything that seems irreplaceable.
Streaming has given our lives a complete turn to have the great advantage that TV has, of watching the series and movies that you like at the times and times that you want, not only on TV but also on tablets, smartphones and more devices, breaking the mold to opt for this option. Yes, it was not an invention from one day to the next, it came dragging along times until a moment came when it had the explosion and we visualize it right now.
Not only in audio and video is the boom, but also in musical platforms, podcasts that (with respect and distance) is the new radio, making it evolve, with great accessibility that makes life easier for us to have a good time and Endless examples. But going back to the TV vs. streaming, this is not to say that it is the end of the first, TV, even if it has that downturn, will not leave our homes, but if it is seen that this same device is the great medium to make room for its "replacement"
Another great reason for this turnaround is not another one of mass audiences tired of seeing the same programming, seeing how they wanted to keep the audience in a kind of linear beings, we are already advancing the era, a change is needed and these CEOs understood everything. Although there were so many antecedents, who take the credit for selling this active boom, it is the people of Netflix who have changed their lifestyle since 2010. So much so that Amazon, HBO, Disney, ESPN, Hulu and others mimicked this ideal that keeps us on this wave.
Recently, a tweet from Barstool Sports 🔼🔼🔼🔼 came out averaging the most viewership per state in the US for the most used streaming App, which is very interesting. It would be great to see another worldwide.
TV has the advantage over streaming of not depending on the internet to transmit and it is clear that in various parts of the world it is difficult to have fast broadband, in our case with LATAM that is a problem, however, we manage to enjoy these media that are already another element of the present and future, such as the Metaverse, cryptocurrencies and even Web 5.0, which will be another topic to analyze.
