Tonight I first thought of making a classic Swedish dish, "Sjömansbiff". But I had to compromise with the family so it became my own little dish. Long-cooked beef in beer & onion sauce. Fry the meat to get a nice surface, then cook in broth for about 30 minutes. Then add beer, bay leaves, salt, pepper, yellow onion and garlic (whole wedges, they disappear during cooking and raise the sauce to the skies). Then simmer for about 4 hours. Incredibly juicy stew. Served with mashed potatoes, pickles and chili. #Food

Looks and sounds tasty! Up until now I only used beer to marinate or if I roasted (braised as well) something... hours of course. But based on your Noise I can imagine the flowery umami kick in the base of the taste layers.... not to mention the texture. I must try this as well. The own little dishes are the best! >D
Ohoho, this is just delicious. Beef goulash is something we eat. Only we put a lot more vegetables, and spices. You cook it in a healthier way
