Xinyan Guide: Genshin Impact

It's been a while since i made any post and Xianyan, a character in the Xiao banner that has gained my attention given how much people praise Bennett as the best support unit next to Venti.

General use:

1. She's a pyro, so another pyro will give you that sweet 25% ATK

2. Her ascension bonus is 24% ATK

3. Her E.Burst scales off Physical dmg% as PYRO dmg, the dot will also be affected by her Phys DMG while the DoT is affected by ATK & PYRO dmg. Making PYRO still the priority over Phys or ATK

4. She will give 15% Physical Dmg to anyone shielded by her E.Skill which makes her swappable.

5. Her C1 can make her a temporary main DPS even so another candidate might be better for this roll

such as Keqling, Diluc or Razor.

Intermediate use

1. She's best paired with an offensive healer such as Bennett or Qiqi rather than with a pure healer such as Barbara.

2. Do not set her for just the atk bonus with an Elemental main dps such as Klee /Diluc just for the Pyro bonus as Physical dmg bonus do not benefit elemental dmg.

3. She's best used in a Physical main dps set up with Razor or Diluc or Keqling with a full Gladio set.

Reading her ascension makes 3 things clear :

C2 - her E.Burst will always crit and proc her E.Skill

C3- Wants you to focus more on her E.Skill as it will be upgraded by 3 lvl

C4- along with her ascension will give a -30% Phys Def Reduction on Target

lasting for 12s both for 18s cd.

Pro use:

1. Expected to know everything mentioned in General and Intermediate use.

2. Due to the nature of her ascension and her constellation. C2,C3, C4 makes it very clear Her E.Skill is her bread and butter in her optimum set up which is a Offensive, Shield provider Support.

3. She should have at most 150% E.Recharge since E.Burst is a 15 CD.

4. Now that everything is known, we need to evaluate the best gears for her:

Gears:

The best artifacts for her are:

a) 2- Bloodstained Chilvary - 25% Phys Dmg

b) 2- Crimson Witch of Flame - 15% Pyro Dmg

c) A Goblet based on your team need - More dmg? Pyro / Phys Dmg

More defense? DEF%

The best weapon for her:

a) At 150% Recharge - Sacrificial Claymore can be replaced since her E.Burst will provide shield too

Blackriff Slasher - If you want more crit dmg with your E.Burst, C2 makes this the go-to weapon for Xianyang.

Starting weapons for her are either Whiteblind or Sacrificial. One is craftable, another if you were lucky provides not only E reset but also energy recharge which means you may basically ignore getting the energy recharge hourglass or spending mats to level it up.

I will never ever suggest garbo dust store weapons and I cannot believe people are doing it. To get garbo dust you must buy gems and open lootboxes. If you are whaling then you should open weapon banner lootboxes as any 5* claymore is better than crappy garbo dust store weapons. Use garbo dust to get characters

Main stat priority:

1. DEF%

2. DEF

3. Phys Dmg

4. CRIT DMG (if you're going for 150% E.Recharge also affects all dmg unlike Phys Dmg)

5. E.Recharge% (150% cap)

6. Pyro Dmg

7. ATK% ATK

8. E.Mastery (Actually more useful than ATK% ATK if the player know how to gain Shield lvl 3 more efficiently and Vs Cryo unit and Electro Unit)

N.B Crit Rate doesn't benefit to your shield and becomes useless once C2 is unlocked for Support Xinyan so avoid this stat at all cost, even HP% becomes more valuable than crit rate on her.

After additional testing:

I'm currently running her with 170% E.Recharge which makes the Noblesse set better than Gladiator or Crimson since you can buff her ultimate with 20% overall2 piece of Bloodstained still is recommended.I hope this helps you
