I just got interested in weapons like swords. And because of that i tried making one out of a rivet. Its my first time making one and heres how i did it.
First i took a rivet,then just removed the round thing near the middle. Btw this is how a rivet looks like for those who dont know
I think its about 1inch.
After removing that round thing i started sanding the rivet until it gets flat. It took me about 1 hour just to make it flat using a whetstone.
After sanding the rivet i then make tge guard for the sword. I did it by making a hole in a metal button and just slide it into the rivet until it reach the handle part.
The handle is simple since the sword is small i just sand it until i get a somewhat rectangular shape and cover it with string.
For the sheath of the sword i used a popsicle stick and some glue. First i cut 2 rectangles for the top and bottom and 2 smaller rectangles for the side. I just glued the 4 parts together leaving a hole in the middle for the sword and clamp it so it would hold until the glue is dry. After that i just sand it for it to have a much more round edges.
And heres the sword that i made. I fidnt make it too sharp since there are kids in our house and may cause injuries if they ever saw this and try to play with it. Since this is my first time making somethiing like this i kind of proud for myself
