# Leaks = Illegal Disclosures
Product/content leaked is bad from company perspective, in this case is Mihoyo as a game company. It'll ruins the element of surprise for future updates. This such illegal disclosures and this behavior not only disrupts Mihoyo plans to develop and promote the new version, but also causes some people to have misconceptions about the content of the future version.
# Positive Side
I understand what Mihoyo mean, but Mihoyo need to see the positive side. Illegal disclosures aside, this leaking has been good marketing for Mihoyo. In my opinion, leaks can help people to choose to wish or not to wish, for money spender (low spender to whale) they can prepare their money to be spend if they like the leaked character art/playstyle, and for F2P players can save and grind for primogems. Aside, players can save and grind materials they need for leaked character in time (Xiao's and Hu Tao's leaked case).
# Mihoyo's Fault
Leaks based on beta-test info and or client datamines, rumours is mostly word of mouth info, datamine actually got evidences. Rumours can be false, but datamine is true because it based on the production client.
Is it Mihoyo fault because storing future data in the production client ? If they don't want to be leaked, then don't junk the future data. Especially the leakers got their datamined evidence through / after new patch.
# Security Issue
Update leaks are a thing, but they decided to make it as their main focus right now, instead of account hacking and security breach issues, I don't know if people claiming to be hacked said they never buy from 3rd party or link their account to suspicious website, etc., but on the other hand 2FA is really concerning. Some people spent large amounts of money, and until now, there was no clarity regarding the security of these people's accounts.
# Content Roadmap
Mihoyo should consider to create a roadmap, so players can have something vague to look forward. Release a roadmap with some hint about the characters that Mihoyo plan to develop (maybe like their type, their gender, their vision, their rarity), hints about incoming events, hints about the lore that will come, etc. every 2 or 3 patch version i.e. This roadmap things, slowly but surely will make people to stop looking at illegal information from leakers and get future foresight from Mihoyo itself instead (legal/officially information).
I do not defend the leakers ! I am on the side of the player in general, because honestly, even though it ** **legal, it is very helpful for me, who is only a low spender. I can calculate the expenses I will spend to get a leaked character (if I like its art/playstyle), start saving and grinding about what mats are needed, asecension mats, talent mats, mora, etc.
And if you don't like it (to be spoiled), try to avoid it as much as possible, even though it will be difficult because many people will share the leaked results again, btw, it's one of the risks from a game that is currently on hype. Many people share the leaked results, can we assume this is an indirect form of free promotion for Genshin Impact (Mihoyo) for upcoming content ? Given that people will have a bit of hype to keep up with the new patch(es).
