Holidays in Egypt

Hey! Hot days have come. And I decided to tell you about my trip to Egypt. But during the pandemic, traveling has become much more dangerous and difficult. This post tells about my impressions of being in a hot African country. So I'll start from the beginning.

In my country, as in many others, vaccination against coronavirus is currently being promoted. I am not a vaccinator, but at this stage I do not plan to get vaccinated. The point is that vaccines today are "raw" and pose a threat. But this is just my opinion, which is supported by the opinion of people who have gone through the path of vaccination. The only advantage that vaccination gives now (in my country) is the right to travel on vacation without PCR testing.

This year I happened to go on vacation to Egypt. This was my first trip so far from home and my first plane ride. In addition, 11 nights in Egypt was the only resort getaway in the last 5 years. Basically, I only rested within my own country. We also have many beautiful places, but sometimes you want to travel and see other countries. Egypt turned out to be the most affordable option of all.

Having bought tickets, I had to go through a simple PCR test to determine whether I was sick with coronavirus or not. In my opinion, this testing does not always reflect the essence of things. There are errors everywhere. However, everything went well and soon I was getting on the plane. We can say it was climbing from winter to summer. On the day of departure, it was snowing in our city. The flight was about 4 hours and from that moment the adventure began.

From the first minutes of your stay, you are immersed in the local flavor. For me, as a resident of Eastern Europe, there were many interesting things. For example, I was surprised that many buildings remain unfinished. Many buildings are unfinished, but people live in them. However, later I learned that in this way local residents do not pay taxes on housing. This is how you save money.

The way some of the locals live was also a culture shock. Unfortunately, I can only compare with the places where I have been. However, some people live in poor conditions. This is accompanied by unsanitary conditions and dirt and uncleaned streets. Although this has a certain charm that creates the overall impression. Although they do not live like this everywhere, but only in places where tourists do not go.

But walking around the city and learning about the local culture took only part of my time. Since I rarely go to the sea, it was the sea that was my main fovarite. And the sea here is simply magnificent. The Cote d'Azur and many coral reefs look even better than the best pictures. In order to appreciate the beauty of local beaches, you need to see it with your own eyes.

The tourist embankment is also impressive. It is home to many catering facilities and beautiful yachts. In addition, it offers beautiful views of the nearby island. It is from this place that numerous sea cruises and excursions begin. But you have to be careful, as local stores overcharge prices, and sellers are trying to deceive you.

However, as soon as you leave the refined area of the embankment, you will see a completely different picture. Nearby there is a "cemetery" of old boats. It looks interesting. Also not far from this place is the famous fish market. It has a variety of different fresh seafood. Just behind the fish market, there is a mosque, a local landmark.

I am not one of those tourists who like to spend time on the territory of the hotel. I like to explore and learn new things. But sometimes you need a time of relaxation and tranquility on the beach. Fortunately, this can be easily obtained. While there is one side effect - local sellers are very annoying, they try to sell you their goods in a very intrusive way. Not everyone might like it. You quickly get used to it and continue to enjoy your vacation. Despite the fact that the hotel needed renovation, the view from the window of the room was magnificent. Night or day, it was equally beautiful.

To visit Egypt and not go on a safari is an unaffordable luxury. Therefore, having had plenty of rest, we decided to take part in the safari. It was combined and included several adventures at once: a quad bike safari, a camel safari, a visit to a Bedouin village and a buggy safari. A huge number of people visit these excursions every day. For this reason, you need to be prepared to stick with your group all the time. Local guides react quite aggressively to those who move away from the group or move outside the convoy.

Our group, which consisted of Russian speaking tourists, had a lot of broken ATVs. Probably due to the large flow of people, they simply do not have time to repair them. Although the Bulgarians in the group did not have such problems. The Bedouin village is also a colorful place, but most likely it was created only for the sake of tourists and is fake. But I cannot say for sure. One way or another, there you will also be offered services.

But in my opinion, the best part of a safari is riding a buggy. These are small desert cars that do a great job in any desert terrain. You don't need to be a professional driver to be able to drive a buggy. All that is needed is the desire and protection of the face from the sand.

At the end of the day, all tourists received an all-inclusive dinner. The same as in the hotel. The performance was quite interesting, but after a hard day I wanted to return to my hotel as soon as possible. I can advise everyone who goes to Egypt to experience a storm of emotions and adrenaline - to take part in a motorcycle safari.

Unfortunately, all good things tend to end very quickly. We did not have time to visit many other beautiful places and sights. I managed to go to the sea and go snorkeling. He's just amazing in the Red Sea. The rich underwater world will not leave you indifferent. Although there are many dangers among corals in the form of beautiful, but dangerous marine inhabitants.

Probably the sea is the main attraction of this place. I also noticed that there are a lot of stray cats in the mountain. Probably no one controls their population, so their number is truly large. They are very thin, so there is an impression that no one feeds them. They often climb trash cans. But to a greater extent, their thinness is associated with the year-round heat. Although the locals are very fond of animals and feed them in every possible way. I also fed the cats that lived on the territory of the hotel.

Soon the rest came to an end and I went home. What conclusions did I draw in the end? I enjoyed the local flavor and tasted the local food. I liked meeting new people and getting to know the culture of another country. I got a lot of pleasant impressions and a huge number of photographs as a keepsake. And how to be, I flew from winter to summer on vacation, and returned home from summer to winter. At home I was greeted by cold weather :)

Would I Recommend Egypt as a Vacation Destination? Of course, there you can find any kind of rest. You can spend time on the beach sipping a cocktail, visiting cultural treasures or having an extreme vacation. It all depends only on you and your desire.

All photos are taken by me. Thanks for attention!
