Hey! I was seriously ill for a while, but fortunately this is not related to covid. In recent days I have watched several documentaries about what is happening with the planet. It's exciting, but sad at the same time. But reality is reality, you cannot just close your eyes to it. For this reason, I decided to devote this article to the global problems of humanity.

By the way, an interesting fact is that the word "Global" is based on the word "Globe". This concept became widespread in the last century and was used in the broad sense of the word "the whole world. The modern era of people and technological progress are good, but they have side effects. Any medal has a downside.

There is even such a science as Globalistics, which studies global problems that threaten humanity and our planet. But problems don't come out of nowhere. Everything has a beginning. For example, Covid-19, which is currently a very controversial topic. Where did it come from, are vaccines dangerous at the moment (my opinion is yes) and how covid changed the world.

But there are a number of other, more dangerous problems that humanity may face in the next century. Some of them, which are the most important, I wanted to talk about today.

Ecology of the planet

Perhaps environmental issues are more important than others. Probably many have heard about the so-called "Global Warming". This issue is also a source of controversy. There are people who claim that global warming is a myth and a fiction. Other people argue that global warming is a serious problem that threatens humanity. Let's face the official facts and try to draw our own conclusion.

The planet's temperature rises very quickly. For the most part, this is preceded by human activity. The Industrial Revolution was the starting point (a sharp jump) from which the rise in temperature accelerated many times over. The main consequences of global warming are rising levels of greenhouse gases, rising sea levels and aggressive natural phenomena.

At the moment, according to official figures, 40% of tropical rainforests have been destroyed. This is tantamount to the fact that every minute more than 40 hectares of forests are cut down on the planet. In addition to this, a huge number of factories are collecting toxic production waste. The air and the ground are polluted. Although I am glad that many countries are concerned with waste recycling. In addition, many car manufacturers are striving to develop and popularize electric vehicles.

Just imagine that if humanity does not take action, then the melting of massive glaciers will lead to the fact that many coastal cities will be under water. Modern Atlantis. Deserts will grow and trees will decrease. This can lead to the fact that our planet will become our enemy. I don’t want to think about it, but this is one of the possible development scenarios. But I think that humanity will be able to avoid this.

Demographics and food

It's no secret that the world's population is constantly growing. Although this is also controversial. Today, the world's population is more than 7.8 billion people. In this regard, there is a need to feed all people. Cities are growing, and the number of arable lands is growing with them. This leads to the fact that the more people on the planet, the more resources are needed.

The main problem is that the population exceeds the ability to create food resources. Thus, in some countries, people do not have enough food and they die of hunger. To a greater extent, this applies to African countries. In order to solve the problem with food, it is necessary to increase the yield. Therefore, a vicious circle turns out in which humanity needs too much food.

According to some projections, the population will continue to grow exponentially. By 2050, there will be approximately 9-10 billion people on the planet. Despite the fact that growth has slowed down, it is impossible to accurately predict the future number of people on the planet. For example, various cataclysms or epidemics can affect population growth in the future. There are too many factors. For example, in the future, food will be printed on a 3D printer and this will change a lot. For this reason, the existing problem of overpopulation and food can be solved in the near future.

The problem of using the world's oceans

In the end, I would like to talk about another problem - the world's oceans. The ocean itself is not a problem, but the problem is how we humans use it irrationally. Well, let's take as an example the fact that huge amounts of various waste are constantly dumped into the ocean. Or occasional oil tanker accidents. Despite the fact that the world ocean occupies about 71% of the earth's surface, this leads to its total pollution.

Fishing is also a big problem, in particular the extermination of whales. Fish is part of the food culture and is the norm. I also love fish products. It's just that over the past decades, due to fishing, many species of marine life have been impoverished. This is also facilitated by emissions of hazardous chemicals. However, with this problem, humanity is taking certain measures. That is, the situation can still be corrected, probably.

Thus, I want to summarize, but it is simple. There is still time for humanity to improve the ecological situation on the planet. Many countries are adapting to life in harmony with nature. Although there are many negative examples, there is still a light on at the end of the tunnel. So let's love nature.

Thanks for attention!
