Hello everybody! Today I decided to reflect on the topic of our non-smart future. Namely about artificial intelligence and VR technology. Will artificial intelligence become a threat to humanity, or, on the contrary, has solved many problems? Will virtual reality technology make people addicted or, on the contrary, will it make our life brighter? This is what I want to think about today from the point of view of an ordinary person.
I think that among new technologies, it is AI and virtual reality that can have many-sided consequences for humanity. If we pay attention to technologies that started most of the time with good intentions. But then they became invasive and corrupt. Critics predict a similar fate for artificial intelligence and virtual reality technology.
The world is simultaneously developing, but it is also moving towards decay and disorder. This is the famous Law of Entropy. This happens with many modern technologies. In the short term, they play a big role. But note that even cryptocurrency has become an obstacle to government control. Now states are creating their own cryptocurrencies in order to "be in trend" and not lose control. This is similar to the TV series Black Mirror.
Artificial intelligence - salvation of humanity or not?
It is likely that artificial intelligence has been around for a long time, but we do not know about it. However, AI has been around for a long time. It's even in your smartphone camera. Although this cannot be called a full-fledged artificial intelligence, but only its pathetic shadow. A shadow of what humanity expects in the near future.
No one can give a specific date for the creation of a strong artificial intelligence. By strong AI, I mean that intelligence that will surpass the human and will be able to independently and very quickly learn. But the problem is that a smart car will not have soul and emotions. She will think with common sense, but she will be alien to the feeling of love, compassion, or anger. Some scientists have proposed the idea to endow artificial intelligence with emotions in order to make it look like a person.
Other people are expressing concern that artificial intelligence needs to be kept under control. To do this, it must initially be created with an anchor system and full control. To do this, you need to evolve along with artificial intelligence. But another question immediately arises. Who will control the omniscient mind? Will this person use AI for his own selfish purposes or will he use it for the benefit of humanity?
Another category of people are those who believe that AI is a threat to humanity. These people include Ilom Musk. The famous astrophysicist Stephen Hawking had the same opinion. They, like many other skeptics, see AI as a threat to the future of humanity. However, all categories of people agree that strong AI needs to be controlled.
I will not delve into the facts that say that AI brings many benefits, but also when the AI acted outside the box. As you can see, the topic of artificial intelligence excites the minds of many people. There are many questions, but there is no definite answer.
Virtual reality will replace conventional reality
Virtual reality is a technically created world that is transmitted to a person through the senses. Recently, virtual reality has become a part of the everyday life of people in the developed countries of the world. In addition to the viral reality, the means of augmented reality are also popular, which combines virtual reality and the surrounding world. The most common example of virtual and augmented reality is your smartphone.
VR technology is advancing so rapidly that there are many ways to manipulate this reality. For example, your smartphone, together with a special helmet, can serve as a guide to virtual reality. You just have to move your head or use a special joystick. Currently, it is possible to control virtual reality even by connecting to the nervous system. Simply put - VR technology is just evolving and will be very popular in the future.
But how can virtual reality be used in practice? In general, the area of application is very wide. In addition to computer games, virtual reality is becoming a part of the modern cinematographer. While traditional cinema theaters are popular, but in the future, VR will outstrip. In addition, BP technologies are widely used in construction, industry and education. After all, learning through virtual reality allows you to train specialists with maximum efficiency and minimum health risks.
So what's the negative of virtual reality? I think there is also a dark side to this technology. Plunging into a world full of possibilities, a person becomes addicted and loses interest in ordinary everyday life. I would call this a negative factor. Even from traditional computers, people are fanatical to madness, then what will happen when a person can completely immerse himself in the virtual world and become a different person, getting rid of the problems of real life?
In my opinion, this is the biggest problem in technology. I do not take into account the fact that from prolonged disturbance of the screen there is a load on the eyes, and from "playing" in VR there is a strong load on the central nervous system. So it turns out that VR technology carries more positive aspects than threats? In my opinion, Yes.
What are the conclusions?
In my opinion, Artificial intelligence, like virtual reality, is what humanity inevitably expects. Despite the possible risks, artificial intelligence can both improve and worsen people's lives. For example, at the moment, thanks to artificial intelligence, we see how technologies are developing. For example, self-driving cars. Virtual reality is more beneficial than harmful to people. I see that AI, as well as VR technology, can become a part of our life in the foreseeable future.
I am a supporter of technological progress, and therefore I hope that humanity will develop in the right direction and apply and AI will be created to create good and solve many problems. At least I hope so.
