Sri Lankan cricketers have been practicing since June. Sri Lanka is the only country in the subcontinent to play cricket due to low coronavirus infection. The domestic first class tournament has ended this month. Three Sri Lankan middle-order batsmen, Kushal Mendis, Angelo Mathews and Dinesh Chandimal, have flooded their Sri Lankan Premier League tournaments. All three have completed preparations for the Bangladesh series next October with huge centuries.
The Sri Lankan cricketers got four matches to prepare in August. Angelo Mathews has taken full advantage of this opportunity. Middle-order batsman Mendis has scored three centuries in four matches, including a double century. This is Mendis' first double century in his first-class career.
Another batsman Dinesh Chandimal is in great rhythm. He has scored runs in every match after playing four matches. He has set a record in the last match after a century and two fifties. Playing an unbeaten innings of 354 runs, he set the record for the highest individual innings in domestic cricket in Sri Lanka. The innings of 354 runs was played again in ODI mood. Chandimal has spent only 391 balls.
