Losing someone close to you

Just having the thought of losing your loved ones makes you shiver. As we grew up since a child, we are taught that everyone needs to leave "die" one day. Being a kid, we always thought that death is only for elderly people and not for young people.

As time goes by, we understand and acknowledge that indeed everyone needs to leave one day "die" whether we like it or not. The issue is not about dying, but rather if we are prepared for it or prepared to lose someone close to us. And that is taught in our upbringing, to be mentally prepared.

Similarly, when eventually someone close to us pass away, we feel lost, broken, weak, emotional, unable to focus/cope in daily life. Was it because we were not taught about it as a kid or is this feeling and behavior human and normal?

There are several ways about how to deal with such situations. Some Religiously, others through work, many keep their minds occupied doing something. But deep down in our hearts we know that we are masking the truth rather than accepting it.

I would love to hear if any of you have been through this situation and how did you get through it. Whatever is in your heart and mind share it with us so i and others can learn more.

What are your thoughts?
