Can you imagine a world without war? A world that would settler everything through peace talks? Can you imagine countries that will help each other because they understand each other's struggles? I think this could all be possible if we have proper communication, no misunderstandings that could lead to a conflict.
Miscommunication nowadays is everywhere. As far as we all know a good communication is when someone is talking, someone should listen in order to receive the appropriate message that is intended for the receiver. But sometimes all of us are speaking and we failed to listen that can cause what is mentioned in the first paragraph.
Good communication is important because it can build a good relationship with each other; it can reconcile people; it can motivate people; it can boost someone's self - esteem; it can save people, relationships, organizations that is falling apart; it can make people realize and reflect.
*What is really a good communication?
In order to achieve good communication, two parties must be able to do giving of informations in a very clearly and appropriate manner, and two parties must accept also information openly and brilliant enough to understand what is really the message in order to avoid miscommunication.
Also communication must be for everybody, everybody must be heard and everybody can speak. Poor or Rich, Powerful or not, Top management or rank - and - file employees, teacher or student. Everyone can speak and be listened to in order to achieve good communication.
*Influenced
Countries are being conquered by different races in the past centuries, and even though some things that happen that time are good, like food, culture, way of living, etc., We cannot deny that most of it have negative impacts to many countries. If we will go back to that time and think of it, what if two races can understand each other and can communicate very well? I think it will be way better, it can build a relationship and it can build peace to countries, and no one can take advantage.
*Family
In tradition, recent families will eat all together at the same time in order to talk with things, how was everybody's day, plans, talking about mistakes in order to make it better next, checking if everybody is still motivated and happy.
Recently, people practice, maybe not perfect, but very good communication within the family. But nowadays, most of the families are ignoring each other, maybe living in the same house but not communicating well, not eating together, and not spending time together. That is where the problem begins, that is why most of the parents' nowadays have no control to their children because they are not talking to them, they are not checking them on how's their they, and even not listening to them, children have no voice within the family because of the mindset that, "they are just children, their opinion won't matter", that's why they choose friends over family because friends are treating them more like family.
Most of people in the family will decrease their self - esteem, not being motivated anymore, and not being passionate as they used to due to lack of appreciation. That is why sometimes they choose to do negative things rather than doing the positive.
Also this is the reason why suicidal rates are rapidly increasing due to lack of communication, people who are not listened to are the victims of suicide, they feel alone, they feel that no one is there for them, they feel worthless.
And some families quarrel and split up due to lack of good communication.
*Organization
One of an organization's success is through good communication. Most of the organizations nowadays, whether a Profit or a non - profit organization will not be effective in its operations due to lack of good communication.
A very good example of this is, a merchandising company has an inventory missing by doing a physical counting, but in the books it is complete. The reason for that is, top management is not communicating to the rank - and - file employees that is in the operation and in - charge of the inventory. Because of that top management wasn't able to check if there is a inside job going on in the company, sabotage between the bookkeeper and inventory people.
Another example, in Universities, they are building an organization for students voice in order for the management to know what is to continue to do in the university and what things are needed to be amended. Without this, student will be leaving the university in no time.
*What should be done in order to achieve good communication?
People must know when to talk and listen, not all the time we need to talk, we also need to observe and listen, not jump into conclusions easily.
Be humble. Because when we are humble our minds are open and flexible, be aware to our surroundings if what needs to be done, and maybe in all the problems that is stated above whether in the family or in an organization, we can make a great difference.
