What lessons can we take away from disasters?

Natural disasters strike in a broken world, claiming thousands of lives and destroying or damaging millions of dwellings. We also can't do anything to prevent them, but we can reduce their impact.

While some of us continue to sing songs of sadness and loss, others have attempted to create a calm haven based on the memories of that horrible day.

What lessons can we take away from disasters?

Even nonbelievers can find consolation in prayers.

It's all too simple to dismiss the existence of a GOD until faith becomes your only option. We're all only humans, and seeking the divine has always been one of the ways to find the strength to keep going and weather even the most severe storms.

Whether you're a believer or not, we all need a ray of hope in the form of a heartfelt prayer to help us overcome our worries. We all deserve a ray of optimism, which can only come when we become humble and admit that we can't always be in charge.

There are instances when there are no clear answers.

“Why?” In the aftermath of a calamity, this is the most pressing question that has yet to be answered. Everyone had lost something or someone, and they couldn't help but wonder what they'd done to deserve such a destiny. Some people may spend years searching for solutions just to come up empty-handed.

It's fine to ponder these concerns, but don't let them enslave you in a never-ending loop of agony. It's critical to keep moving, breathing, and living, no matter how difficult or painful it is to take the initial step. You'll figure it out eventually.

Even strangers have the ability to teach you kindness.

Some philosophers believe that humans are born selfish, with an instinctual need to put their own comfort and safety first, even if it means harming others and robbing them of their basic rights.

There may be millions of people like them around the world, but that is no reason to give up on humanity. Kindness still exists and is waiting to be discovered. They can be found in the most unexpected places, including the disaster-ravaged wastelands.

Everything revolves around family.

Life might be cruel at times, but everything is manageable if you're with the people who have truly loved you for who you are since the day you were born.

However, because we are too preoccupied with our own life, we sometimes forget to cherish these really unique people, our family. We take them for granted at times because we believe they will always be there, waiting for us to find the time - until we arrive at an empty house, an abandoned and forgotten place you once called "home."

In the end, it won't matter how much money you have.

Money is revered by the majority of people because of the comfort and advantages it may provide to its bearer. It's a necessary tool for surviving in this material world, but it won't and can't save you from death.

What matters in the end is how much you loved, how you lived, and how you contributed to making the world a better place for others.

Death serves as a lesson to value life.

You won't be afraid of dying if you know you're living your life to the fullest, following your own dreams and aspirations; a life of happiness and fulfillment shared with those you care about.

Your physical existence may come to an end with death, but your acts, love, and passion will be remembered for all eternity.

Before you can assist others, you must first help yourself.

You can't rescue someone's life unless you're willing to do the same for yourself. It is not self-centered to pursue a better life and become a better person before assisting others in doing the same. If your cup is still empty, you can't pour water into someone else's.

Work hard for a passion, a dream, or an ambition that is enough to pull others up if you want to help transform lives. Encourage them to follow in your footsteps and to remember to give back. Make the world a better place by spreading this love.

You should spend every day of your life loving and living.

Don't squander your life wallowing in regret over every stupid mistake you've made; don't be enraged at the universe for allowing you to live an unendurable existence of heartbreaks and disappointments; and don't curse the gods for not providing you with what you desire.

Life is far too short and valuable to dwell on its shortcomings. Rather, love deeply and passionately. Live each day as if it were your last chance to find the pleasure you deserve. Get drunk on the seductive aroma of love, celebrate friendship, and wallow in passion. Simply live.

You shouldn't be a victim for the rest of your life; instead, strive to be a survivor.

True, life can be cruel and merciless, but that doesn't mean we have to blame ourselves and feel like victims all of the time. We must strive and prosper; we must battle and do all it takes to resist and rise up – because we do not live in a fantasy world, and we are not fictional characters. We are human beings, and we are well aware that the reality we face today will not be ideal. Not everyone's story will have a happy ending or a compelling plot, but we can always choose how to conclude it.

Rather than being a helpless and vulnerable victim, strive to be a victorious and unyielding survivor.

In the end, it will always be Humanity vs the World.

As a result, regardless of faith, gender, color, social rank, or political opinions, we should all love and care for one another. The end of the world will be harsher on anyone who refuses to believe in another's religion or believes he is superior, richer, or "straighter."

Finally, as a nation, as brothers and sisters, as friends, and as life companions, we must fight the same battle and vanquish the same enemy.

But do we need this disasters so we can learn? I hope that we can always practice this learning with or without it.
