Shadows in the trees, no sound is heard, silence spell like a curse,
We sleep side by side, hand in hand by the ebbing fireplace,
Screams are heard, and new fires unquenched, your face a painful grimace
Dagger in your breast, warm liquid on my chest, with confusion all around,
An ambush in deed, with thieves in need of our lives and money to the last pound
A life of peace impossible indeed as our blood gives the weed a tint,
To think our last memories were spent in bliss is why our faces are lit,
Maybe in the next life we could meet, and have more beautiful kids,
No regrets now, even with a blade in my back, I'm grateful for our deeds,
The moon must've grinned from ear to ear at the fate that just unfold.
But I swear to you and the sun, there's a place for us yet untold.
