The will to win
People waste time and resources because they are too preoccupied with wanting more time and better resources to utilize what they already have. In a year or two, you could be astonished at what you've accomplished if you focus on doing the little things in great ways.
"The will to win is wasted if it is directed towards trivial affairs." James Clear.
Be the best you can in the little things you can do. Earning 50 cents in an article of 300 words doesn't seem worthwhile when you see people publishing longer articles and earning more than you do. But winning in small ways is a form of greatness on its own. Being the best is tough work. There is always room for improvement. Even the very best isn't great every single time. But the good news is that no one is perfect. Being average isn't terrible and no one is the very best. Enjoy the little things, the milestones.
According to Rich Womack "The road to greatness in life is paved with small victories."
Winning is easy. Making it sustainable is more challenging. Don't be fooled by those who feel they're more than they are and are motivated by outside forces. Don't fall into the same trap as the athletes and people with the most potential. Competing for a position should not be the goal of a person. The goal is to win. And the best way to win is to put in the work, put in the time, put in the practice, and trust the process. It's okay if you win in small ways and you win a little, but strive to win the most. It's possible. Do your work, trust the process and just get better.
Your moment of greatness could be just around the corner. The real hero in life isn't the guy who punches a giant dragon in the face for the rest of the world to see. He's the one who went from zero to hero in a space of time and made that hero his own. He's the one who earned it, by putting in the work.
Every day, let your greatness be apparent. Every day, let your greatness define who you are and where you are going. Every day, celebrate your wins, no matter how small, because your wins will not be in proportion to how great you truly are if you haven't achieved your potential.
Your greatness is something you can have no matter where you are in life, and no matter what you are doing. One of the greatest weaknesses I have as a writer is not being able to get a good night's sleep. Because my mind is too busy thinking about ideas and plots and things I'm planning to write about the next day.
Being a writer is a form of creativity and intuition, which usually leads to waking up with a great idea in the middle of the night. Don't ignore your creativity or your intuition. If you aren't able to get a solid seven hours of sleep, take some quiet time, close your eyes and see what you can see. Try to dream, but don't force it. Just let your mind wander. When I'm not able to sleep, I open my eyes, shut off my computer and see what I can see.
In life, we will always have obstacles to overcome. There are times when the "routine" won't work, and we have to be willing to step outside our comfort zone. We will fail more times than we succeed, but every single time we succeed at something, it will make the next attempt a little easier. Every time we fail, we learn from the experience and prepare for our next opportunity.
Failure is not an option. If you accept failure, you don't take chances. You settle. You're afraid of life and, therefore, you settle for mediocrity.
We should all fail a lot. It's how you move on to the next attempt. We should not give up if the first one is unsuccessful. If we don't at least try, we can't succeed. Look at yourself and your situation. Is it going to make you happy? Is it what you want? Then keep doing it. Keep trying. If you fail, at least you know what not to do next time.
The future is ahead of you. You have an opportunity to try new things, challenge yourself, create something that will help the world, or serve it in a way no one else can. Everyone has within him the power to bring the whole world around. So ask yourself, do you have the courage?
"Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts." Winston Churchill.
Remember what it was like to try something new and fail. Those failures helped create who you are and what you are capable of becoming. Don't shy away from failure. Your failures will teach you things you can never learn from success.
To win and to also be successful is eazy but to sustain it is very difficult, so we should make sure we know how to sustain it because when it come to failure nobody will tell you not to sustain.
The will to win, a very powerful article thanks !!!
