A person with depression, has certain symptoms that are part of the same pathology that suffers, ie, these people may suffer from lack of sleep, it costs them a lot to sleep and all because they are really immersed in a world in which they do not know how to classify the emotion they are really living, these people cost more to give a diagnosis another symptom is that they can feel joy to receive or see someone they appreciate a lot, but after a moment, this again feel depressed. Another symptom is the appetite, they tend to eat more than the account and to put on weight, trying to fill an emptiness that is not of hunger, it is more emotional. On the other hand, they also tend to feel as if their arms and legs are over thinking, this happens during several intervals in a day. This last symptom is very important, these people who are not depressed tend to be very susceptible to criticism and rejection, affecting their social and interpersonal development with other people in different environments.
Now, why is this type of depression more dangerous? As I said before, this type of people show a side that is totally contrary to what they are feeling, they are people who are unable to recognize the emotion, therefore it is much more difficult for them to be treated by specialists, besides it takes them a long time to seek help in some cases they do not do it... And they end up committing suicide. It should be noted that this type of depression (atypical) is very common, it occurs a lot in adolescence, in which children feel rejection by their parents and believe that suicide is the best solution, they begin to think they are a complete nuisance so to speak, and believe it is best for their parents. It is important to note that unlike other types of depression, people who suffer from it do not commit suicide, although they may mention wanting to do so, contrary to depression (atypical) the person feels the desire and may even do it.
If you feel that you have any of the symptoms described above, please go to therapy, if it is very difficult for you to do so, then look for a partner or friend and let him/her know what is happening to you and then seek help from an expert.
Another important fact is that depression takes some time, for example some are grief processes, others are more affective, but mostly it is due to significant losses, it is considered depressive when the subject fails to overcome the trauma after several months of suffering, ie can vary from 3 to 6 months, in some cases years ...
