Good afternoon everyone, today I will be talking about the vulva which is part of vagina care,as I promised on my last post

*THE VULVA*

The vulva and labia form the entrance, and the cervix of the uterus protrudes into the vagina, forming the interior end.

SO WHILE YOUR VAGINA IS SELF CLEANSING.

GUESS WHAT?

YOUR VULVA IS NOT*

*SO IF U DONT CLEAN UR VULVA PROPERLY, IT WILL SMELL*

*YOUR VULVA IS NOT YOUR VAGINA*

When people talk about caring for the female genitals, we often hear that the vagina is self cleansing.

Unfortunately, that information is taken by many to mean they don’t need to wash that area.

Let’s be very clear n specific on this. While the vagina may be self cleansing,

*the Vulva is most definitely NOT!*

The vulva is the external part of the genitalia as shown in the image below(blue box).

The vagina opening is the ‘hole’ (for whatever name it’s worth) you see in the picture. The vagina is the inner part of the ‘hole’. The vagina itself is the muscular wonderland inside the opening.

That is the part that is SELF CLEANSING! So if you have been thinking that the self cleansing property of the vagina applies to the vulva then you’re most definitely wrong!

*YOUR VULVA WILL NOT WASH ITSELF*

*So many gynaecologists advise using only water, Why? Not because ordinary water is the best infact, ordinary water is not enough. But because of scarce availability of good intimate wash.*

📍 *Ordinary soaps and shower gels are not suitable for washing the vulva*. ❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌

*Most soaps and shower gels are designed to maintain the natural pH value of the skin, which is 5.5. However, the normal pH value of a healthy vagina ranges from 3.8 to 4.5. (Not the same with skin)*

*Currently in Nigeria I can only point out to one intimate wash that is tested and trusted*

Thanks
