Corcovado Tours has a lot more in store for you but before soul-searching on your own, here’s the top 5 things you must definitely experience!

If you want to know what to see in Corcovado, Costa Rica, Sukia Travel can tell you. We have been working with people moving to Corcovado, Costa Rica, or some other Central America region for several years. Our specialty is to advise on Corcovado tours and those destinations that deliver great adventure tours, tourist attractions, and natural landscapes such as those in this protected wildlife park. We will schedule your experience and describe stuff like getting to Corcovado by public transport or what you can bring in your pocket to enjoy your day.

When's the right time to visit?

Before you fly to Costa Rica and, above all, you should know more about its environment before you visit this natural park. When packing your luggage, it's important to remember that if you're going to see this park as part of your great adventure tours, you have to keep in mind that it's a very humid area and one where rainfall is abundant all year round. Even if you want to sleep, it's essential to keep in mind that you need to take your tent.

The driest months for Corcovado National Park are from December to April. The rainy season starts in May and lasts until early December. Generally, September and October have the most rain. Some lodges on the Osa Peninsula are temporarily suspended in October owing to high rainfall. For a year, the park receives more than 25 feet of rainfall on average.

What can't you miss?

Corcovado National Park

It's an adventure to get to Corcovado National Park. You would need to fly to your eco-lodge in the small towns of Drake Bay or Puerto Jimenez. If you are heading to Drake Bay from Manuel Antonio or the South Pacific Coast, you can arrange private land transport to Sierpe, where a cruise can carry you down the jungle rivers to your eco-lodge in Drake Bay. It is also possible to enter Drake Bay by flight. However, the Drake Bay airstrip is briefly closed so that travelers can fly to the Palmar Sur Domestic Airport, where they can take a quick land transfer to Sierpe and then take a ferry to their Drake Bay eco-lodge.

La Sirena Ranger Station

The La Sirena Ranger Station is where you'll find the Ranger Station offices and the heart of Corcovado National Park. Located right on the shore, you can stop overnight at this station before heading around the rest of your great adventure tours. It's the most challenging station to get to, but it's worth it to those who take the time to make a journey. La Sirena to La Leona is a hot beach hike of 16 kilometers that takes 7 hours to finish. Timing is essential here because of the tide and also because of the sun. This path runs around rocks on the coast that you can cross at low tide, or else there is another trail that goes inland parallel to the water, providing more shade. Beware of the Crocodiles at the tide crossing, and many people highly advise you to go with a guide for extended hiking.

Ave Azul de la Osa

Ave Azul de la Osa in Corcovado, Costa Rica, is a federally approved agricultural compound that encourages conservation through captive propagation. Ave Azul's conservation activities collaborate with Parrot Jungle of Kauai, a formerly endangered species breeding center in Hawaii, USA. Parrot Jungle of Kauai's mission was to raise numbers and improve the current status of many rare and endangered bird species through captive breeding programs.

COPROT Tortugas de Osa

You'll hear so much from Laura Exley and COPROT Volunteers about Sea Turtle Survival. It includes the impact of climate change, significant changes such as rising temperatures and sea levels, and how it impacts all sea species turtles that return to Carate Beach to lay eggs. There are also problems with poaching and predation. They can also teach you how to gather data and have a rare opportunity to see some of the resettlement sites and how scientists are researching and monitoring these changes and consequences.

The other critical part of this group is how they engage the neighborhood and create local social consciousness. Laura collaborated with the miners and showed them how to preserve the turtle and be the farm stewards. Visiting COPROT is a perfect educational opportunity.

Osa Bolo Adventures

For a lifetime of memories and an adventure you can never forget, come with me on a journey across the Corcovado jungle in Corcovado, Costa Rica. The local guides like Costa Rica adventure tours have over 20 years of experience in leading expeditions across the wilderness and have routes for all sorts of abilities; if you want to go on a half-day trip or a super-intensive two-day trip, they will take you on a journey! Besides, they have an in-depth knowledge of all species of wildlife, flora, and fauna in the area and are excited about sharing what they know with their fellow explorers. They will tailor all tours with you to suit your dreams! You can ask them to arrange all transportation to and from the jungle and food and lodging as needed.

Planning your visit to this natural park will allow you to enjoy many of the major tourist attractions. One of the most important annual activities in La Leona is where the tortoises lay their eggs, and you can observe their births.
