Marriage is beyond the two individuals
Good day everyone, how are you all doing. Today is Saturday and as you all know, there will be many wedding ceremony today, so, I feel I should talk about marriage.
As we all know, marriage is the union between a man and a woman. The man and the woman will come together as one and live together for the rest of their lives.
Beyond this two individuals, their relations and their God are the other elements involve in marriage. Without these elements, marriage remains incomplete.
Once you marry your husband/wife, you also marry his/her family and his/her God.
When you marry your spouse you marry everything about her which means you accept her weakness, profession, liabilities and every other things about her, the good, the bad and the ugly.
Furthermore, accepting to marry your spouse means accepting to marry his/her people. No matter who they are or where they come from, you have to accept them. In this part of the world, because of our culture, family plays important role in marriage. So, before you marry your spouse, make sure you do a background check on the family and ensure that they are people you will be able to cope with them cos once you marry, you have to accept them.
There is even a saying in my language that "It is easy to still cope with a bad wife than a bad in-laws"
God should be at the center of every relationship and every Godly relationship starts with God. The God your spouse serves matters a lot. This was why God warned the Israelites not to marry people from other tribe. We all know what happened to people like Solomon and Samson who did so. You must not be equally yoked with unbelievers. Your spiritual progress in life and ministry under God depends on it.
So, for those that are yet to marry, make sure you know that family of you spouse well enough and make sure he/she is a believer. Anytime you think about marriage, make sure you think about your spouse's personality, his/her people and his/her God.
