An empanada is a sort of heated or singed turnover comprising of cake and filling, regular in Southern European, Latin American, Indonesian, and the Philippines societies. The name originates from the Spanish action word empanar, and interprets as "enbreaded", that is, wrapped or covered in bread. They are made by collapsing mixture over a filling, which may comprise of meat, cheddar, corn, or different fixings, and afterward cooking the subsequent turnover, either by heating or fricasseeing.
