As indicated by size, Antarctica is the fifth biggest landmass of earth. The mainland is practically twofold the size of Australia!

Antarctica is an ice secured landmass encompassed by the Southern Ocean. Practically the entirety of the landmass' territory is secured by a thick layer of ice. On normal the ice is 1.9 km/6,200 ft profound. Peruse more on the Southern Ocean here. The inland ice-sheet has a thickness of up to 4 km/13,000 ft.

Antarctica is the driest landmass of the seven mainlands. Antarctica is a frigid desert with next to no precipitation consistently.
