The term Anglo-Saxon is a generally present day one. It alludes to pioneers from the German districts of Angeln and Saxony, who advanced over to Britain after the fall of the Roman Empire around AD 410.
The Roman armed forces pulled back from Britain right off the bat in the fifth century since they were required back home to shield the disintegrating focus of the Empire. England was viewed as a remote of little worth.
