Brick work is one of the most common tasks for a civil engineer. In our country we usually do two types of brick work.
Ordinary Brick Work:
Which is the most common in our country, after making gathuni with bricks in this type of work, the surface of the gathuni is covered with plaster to protect it from the harmful effects of damp and weather and to beautify it.
Pointing Brick Work:
Where no lining or plaster is applied to the brick wall to show the beauty of the joints, Gathuni is later given pointing to the joints. Pointing brick work is usually 10 inches.
Types of Brick Wall:
Different types of brick walls have been introduced in different countries, among them there are more than two types of brick walls in our country;
Stretcher Bond:
Which is known as 5 ”Brick Wall in our country, it happens in both Partition Wall, Internal or External.
English Bond:
Known as the 10 "Brick Wall, it is usually provided as an outer wall.
In addition to the brick walls that are:
Flemish Bond, Header Bond, Facing Bond, Recking Bond, Herring Bone Bond, Zickjack Bond, Stack Bond, Dutch Bond etc.
