Such traits as trustworthiness, kindness, dependability, and loyalty are what makes up a good friend. A good example of friendship is like the one shown by Mark Twain’s ‘Adventures of Huckleberry Finn’. In the story one will see how hack and Jim always stuck together even the society would look down upon Huck for befriending a slave. Their power of friendship superseded the social norms. The situation would not have been the same if Huck was a bad friend.

A bad friend will only want to hang out with you when they feel like as their only intention is to use you for their own fulfillment.
A bad friend does not keep a secret. They will always wander everywhere in school or at home or place of work spilling all your secrets. This means they are hard to trust. A bad friend will spread your business to everyone with the intention of make people think they are better than you are. Others because of jealousy will do this with the intention to hurt you or someone else. And because you trust them so much you may not be aware of their hidden agendas. For example, when pressed with a problem, you might approach them for advice. However, they will knowingly give you a bad advice. This is because bad friends are always in disguise. They may convince you that they support you by being nice to you, however, you will begin to realize that the advice they are providing is not actually the best as it begins causing a lot of problems for you, be it socially, academically or professionally. In addition, bad friends will always take advantage of you in any situation. For example, if you win a lottery, a bad friend will make sure you have spent the money to the last dime without giving you advice on how to invest. They will only be there in good times but run away from you when you need them.
