Since May 11, more than 50,000 cases have been settled through virtual courts across the country. This is the first time in the history of the judiciary that the Supreme Court is still conducting justice in a virtual manner. Over the past decade, the government has taken various steps to increase the number of cases disposed of across the country, including the appointment of judges, enactment of laws, increase in manpower structure, and construction of court buildings, which are still ongoing. Apart from this, trial of Bangabandhu murder and jail murder case, trial of war crimes, trial of BDR murder case, trial of August 21 murder case and many other corruption and important and sensational murder trials have been completed during the tenure of this government. This government has taken various initiatives to build a modern and information technology based justice system, which has been appreciated by the people all over the country.
In this context, Law Minister Anisul Haque said the present government is working relentlessly under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to establish a modern judiciary to alleviate the suffering of the people seeking justice. Effective and visible development has been achieved in speedy disposal of pending cases across the country.

Establishment of International Criminal Tribunal and trial of war criminals: One of the achievements of the present government after 45 years of independence is the trial of crimes against humanity in 1971. According to the Awami League's election manifesto, the International Criminal Tribunal was formed in 2010 to try crimes against humanity committed during the war of liberation. So far, eight cases have been finalized in the Supreme Court. Six war criminals have been executed. The tribunal has so far disposed of 41 cases, which have been accepted and appreciated at home and abroad.
Bangabandhu murder case and jail killing case trial: The brutal murder of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members and the murder of four national leaders have been tried. Five murderers of Bangabandhu were executed on January 26, 2010 and one was executed last April. The process of bringing back five more killers who fled abroad is continuing.
