Abdus Salam is a fourth class employee of the post of machineman in the printing press (press) designated by the Health Education Bureau. The total salary is 30 thousand rupees. But he owns a lot of wealth. Only Dhaka, Savar and Manikganj have hundreds of bighas of land. How did a little employee own so much wealth? Sources said that the information came out during the interrogation of CID after the arrest.

According to sources, during the interrogation, Salam said that after printing the question papers for the admission test in the Medical and Dental College, he would secretly hand it over to the syndicate. He formed the syndicate with his close relatives including his aunts, uncles and cousins. He bought land in Bigha Bigha with the money he got from them by leaking the question papers. A CID official told Samakal that they are looking for at least a hundred students who have been admitted to medical and dental schools by buying leaked question papers through the Salam Syndicate. Several people have also been found. A letter will be sent to the concerned institution for expelling the students with all kinds of evidence against them.

He was arrested last Monday by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the police in a case of leaking question papers of medical and dental college admission tests for various years. He was produced in court last Tuesday and is being questioned on a five-day remand.

The issue of various irregularities and corruption of the influential people in the health department came to the fore during the coronation period. Earlier, there was an uproar across the country over the looting of Abjal Hossain, an accounting officer of the medical education branch of the health department. Health Education Bureau driver Abdul Malek was arrested last month. Hundreds of crores of rupees worth of assets of this fourth class employee came out. It was not possible to hide the 'mountain of wealth' of Nazim Uddin, the store officer of the health department. The latest issue of Abdus Salam, a health worker, came to light.

SM Ashraful Alam, special superintendent of police at CID's cyber center, told Samakal on Wednesday that Abdus Salam had bought land in Bigha Bigha by leaking question papers, but did not keep any money in the bank. During interrogation, he said that owning land is his hobby. For this, he has invested all his illegal income in land. Initially he bought land on Shatabigha. However, Salam is giving misleading information in this regard.

Another CID official said they had learned through sources that Abdus Salam had at least 100 bighas of land in different areas, including Dhaka, Savar and Saturia in Manikganj. A letter has been sent by the CID to the concerned department to confirm the ownership of these lands. Interrogation is going on as well. Once the ownership is confirmed, a case will be filed against him under the Money Laundering Act.

According to CID sources, the question papers for the admission test of the medical and dental colleges were printed in a printing house under the Ministry of Health. However, the staff employed by the Health Education Bureau work in these printing presses. Abdus Salam started leaking question papers while working as a machine man in a printing press for many years. He has leaked the question papers of the medical and dental admission test from 2006 to 2015. However, after the question paper was leaked in 2008, the matter came to light. At that time the admission test was postponed. Abdus Salam was suspended from the post of machine man after the investigation committee of the health ministry found his involvement in the leak. In 2007 and 2008 he was not in the business of printing question papers. In 2009, under the pressure of the influential people of the ministry, he was given the post again. He was then involved in printing question papers. Besides, he also became influential. At that time he formed a syndicate with his cousin Jasim Uddin Bhuiyan, close relatives Zakir Hossain Dipu, Parvez Khan, Mohaiminul alias Bandhan and SM Sanwar Hossain. At least five doctors joined the cycle. Who took classes for medical students at the coaching center.

A CID cyber police official said the five doctors had also been identified on the basis of information provided by Abdus Salam. Detailed information and evidence about them will be taken under the law.
