  • Nike has great lineage of iconic shoes in their line of Jordans, Kyrie, KD, LeBron, Air Force, Presto, Free,Air Max, Vapormax, Zoom Fly,etc and now soon to be launched REACT based sole technology to counter Adidas’ Boost series. While wearing a Nike you not only get great shoe but you also get to live up a legendary and iconic history of a world leading brand. Nike has a very long history of creating world famous shoes through a great design team backed by supreme technology.

Adidas on the contrary had been lagging behind Nike in the USA up until a few years ago. But their partnering with BASF, Germany gave them a cutting edge foam material which they call Boost. This Boost foam totally changed Adidas’ fortune not only in the USA but also the world over. Their iconic shoes like Stan Smiths, Raf Simmons, Superstar, INKI, etc also ‘boosted their place in the athleisure market the world over. Their collaboration with Kanye West for Yeezy line up Boost series has also enabled them to gallop yards and leaps in the iconic shoes market. Currently Adidas’ Ultraboost is truly and well verified top of the line product. A very special mention of the Y-3 Range of shoes designed by none another but Yohiji Yamamoto http://www.y-3.com/IN/. Out of this world designs.

As in the case of the Indian market, you will hardly find all these iconic shoes from Nike & Adidas, in any of the top showrooms in Tier-A cities too.

They both have a very large collection of India centric and Indian Ecommerce centric line of shoes that don’t offer much of the attributes that they are famous for the world over. And wherever though if you may find their top of the line shoes, they are exorbitantly priced, upwards of INR 15,000 going upto INR 19,000 to INR 20,000. Rest of their range is more for allowing the customers to feel and live up their brands at an affordable price of INR 5,000 and above.

Also there are too many fakes and other shoes selling through their so called factory outlets or discount stores. These low prices seconds and fakes rob the brand value of both these brands. For example you might have bought an exclusive Nike Airmax for INR 18,000 but find it in the feet of many other robbing it the exclusivity for which you spent so much money on. I mean you spend top bucks for a top brand not only for top quality but also for fair amount of exclusivity. Like Airmax 90 and Superstars can be seen worn by all and sundry on the streets of Delhi

    So you be the judge.

However, in case you want some level of uniqueness in you footwear wardrobe, you could go in for Under Armour, because they too are very good and not yet proliferated the Indian market in a big way. Their latest HOVR is a remarkable line of great shoes INR 10,000 via ecommmerce site from USA. However they too suffer from under whelming India centric range.
