Why We Think We Are Always Right

How can we see the full story if our eyes are half-closed? Is listening is to hear or listening is to understand? Which is which and even so, does it really matter if you always think you're right also if you're wrong.

The past weeks, starting from the first day of the quarantine. I've seen a lot even though this circumstance prevents us from seeing the outside world.

Despite that, I saw a lot of things a bunch of opinions to be precise and more tons of thoughts pouring down in every one of us. This crisis test us to the extent of our morality, to the extent of our essence of being human.

If everybody is listening I want to ask all of us a question. Does anyone hear what they say? Does anyone understand what they think? Does anyone really care? Do these questions really matter if you always think you're right, even if you're wrong?

I still want to see the world from a different perspective, and when I do, it leaves me uncertain.

This crisis makes me believe that everyone always wants to see what they want to see and hear what they want to listen to that's why we don't fully understand every side of the spectrum. There's no unity for us.

Everyone keeps blaming each other with no intention to understand the thoughts of the opposition. They're debating for the display of knowledge and who can keep the better arguments. Neither of both sides has the intension of understanding one another nor accepting the fact that we are facing a crisis that needs everyone to cooperate.

I don't want to tackle the political side of this thing, but I'm here to understand why we think we are always right. For me, the reason why we think we are always right is we don't really care for the other's opinion, and we only use our ears to listen but not to understand.

Our own ideology consumes us to the point that it will block our understanding. We are not always right buy somehow we failed to recognize it and it is mind bugging.

At the end of the day, what I truly wanted, and this country truly needed, is every one of us knows the true meaning of unity.

Accept the facts that opinions remain to be opinions and thoughts remain thoughts what truly matter is an acceptance that we are not always right…right?

Thanks.
