What is puberty?

Puberty is phase of development in which the body and mind undergo change. Puberty starts about 11or 12 years of age in girls and around 13 years in boys. They start to discover their own sexuality and girls experience their first ever menstruation. This is the period where transition of childhood to adulthood take place.

Once they step into the stage of puberty they experience changes in body, voice, mental stability and many more. They start being high to everyone. Come in contact with many friends and know their position in society. 

Changes in body.

In girls at the time of puberty results in the growth of breast and broadening of hips that leads to menstruation. In boys their body becomes more muscular, production of semen starts, beard and moustache tends to grow faster. 

Changes in voice.

Boys undergo a drastic change in voice and that is the major difference between their childhood and adulthood. The larynx (voice box) become larger. The voices jump to high and low tones. Girls also undergo a voice change but not as pronounced as boys.

At the time of puberty young people undergo emotional instability due to hormonal changes. Friends and people at same age group become more important. They become more glamorous and beautiful that feels them high. Being advantageous to certain people. Also it is important to know that peer pressure lead to addictions to certain drugs, alcohol, tobacco

A lot of activity runs in their mind, new nerve path start to begin, old ones disappear. Happens to experience hormonal changes and mood swings.

Never try to compare your children with other children because that makes them to fall into depression. Depression easily makes a person to fall for alcohol. So, being in the stage of puberty it is easy for them to consume alcohol and that is becomes addiction at teen age. Proper counseling to your children makes them to feel confident to overcome their teenage stress.
