As a child of God, what works for you? Is it the same that works for others. Read wild and enjoy yourself
Text: Phil. 2: 13
“For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.”
As God’s children on this side of eternity we are not finished yet, we are a work in progress but someday we will be finished and then we will be exactly what God wants us to be – the perfect representation of Christ.
People usually like to believe that they are okay as they are, they go to a lot of trouble to see that they package themselves rightly before people to give the impression that all is well with them. But that is just an illusion. The truth is that we all in the world are broken people and only God can perfectly put us together to make us the glorious persons He wants us to be. Remember that due to the fall of Adam in the garden of Eden, man became a fallen creature, another way to put is to say that we became broken and we have remained so ever since. God sent His Son into the world to reconcile us back to himself, so that He can get the chance to work on us and to fix us appropriately. When we surrender our lives to Jesus and accept Him as our Lord and Savior, we are saved, but salvation as good as it is does not make us perfectly okay, it is actually the beginning of God’s work of recreation and remolding within us to make us His masterpiece.
Though we are saved, we still have the problem of uncontrolled anger, lustful passion, greed, covetousness, and other ungodly traits that is a source of deep concern to the child of God who sincerely desires to live right, but unfortunately is unable to do so. Our text reveals to us that as we walk with God in our new found faith, He works quietly in us to chip away what needs to be chipped away, to remold us in areas where we need to be remolded and as He is doing all these, he is also creating in us a desire and giving us power necessary to do His will. No one can on his own live right without the help of God, no one can on his own develop the right godly traits and certainly no one can on his own carry out God’s will and purpose, God is the one that works is us to make all these possible.
What then must we do for God to work in us in this way? The first is that we must be born again, this is a necessary step because it is the step that submits our will to God’s will, until we become born again, we are in total control of our wills to do as we like but at salvation we submit our will to God and then He is able to access our lives. Secondly is that for God to carry out His work in us, we will need to cooperate with Him by staying in fellowship with other brethren, regular engagement with His word and maintenance of a regular and consistent prayer life. When we do this, God works in us to transform us into a glorious vessel that is fit for His use.
God does a lot of work we don’t see when we stay connected to Him, and it is through this unseen work that we are transformed, healed, and ultimately transformed into His master piece. Shalom.

Father I submit myself fully to you, please work in me, let every imperfection die in my life and may I be transformed into a perfect representation of you in Jesus name. Father I submit my will totally to your will for my life, I will not live or walk contrary to your will in Jesus name.
