Different materials have varying values, a bar of gold is far too expensive compared to a bar of iron. How much does a bar of iron cost? 7$? 10$. I'm not really sure.
What I know is that if that same iron is turned into something different, let's say, horseshoe, a small part of that bar of iron would cost more than the bar itself.
What if that bar would be turned into needles? I bet it's gonna be worth a hundred times than a bar.
How bout turning that bar into a watch balance spring? Those tiny pieces are worth a fortune.
Same material different uses dramatically changes its value.
