Maulana Rumi Rahmatullahi Alaihi writes an incident, a man lived in a village near Baghdad. One day the man woke up and went to the king's court to meet him. The king is no longer like the kings of this age, the ruler of half the world. The people of that time used to take some gifts to the king. The king's little gaze fell on him.
Before leaving the house, the man consulted with his wife that I was going to the king's court. No gift should be taken for him. What can I take now? The man lived in a small village. He had no news of the world. His wife advised him to take the water from the jug in our house. Where can the people of the royal court get such clear cool and pure water?
The man also thought his wife's words logical.
He took water and left for the royal court. At that time there was no era of flying ship. The man left on foot with a pitcher on his head. The water became dirty and smelly even inside the dust and sand on the pitcher to cross the long path.
The poor villagers, noticing this, came to the royal court and presented the pitcher to the caliph.
Khalifa wanted to know what?
The man said, I have brought a pure cold drink from my pond for the lord. I thought where to find such water in your court! Please accept it.
Khalifa said, well! I see the lid is removed! The lid was removed, the water smelled.
Khalifa thought! The poor have done so with pure love. It would not be right to break his heart. So the caliph ordered the man to fill the jug and give it to Ashraf. The man is also very happy!
When the man asked permission to return from the royal court, the caliph told a servant to take him some distance ahead and take him along the banks of the Tigris.
After coming some distance, seeing the thick water of the Tigris, the villager said what is there? The servant said, it is a river. Let's see how beautiful the river water is.
Going to the river, the villager saw the beautiful clear water of the river and drank some.
And began to think,
Alas! So much beautiful water near the caliph's court and I brought dirty water for him. Then the caliph took my water only for the sake of his kindness and generosity!
I didn't need any water. In addition, I filled my jug with Ashraf!
Allah Pak His Buzurg Oli Maulana Rumi Rahmatullahi Alaihi used to narrate this incident and say that our worships are also such that Allah Pak is of no use to him. He is not even dependent on our worship. And our worship is not transparent or unadulterated. Rather, it stinks.
Our worships are accepted as worships mainly because of the love of Allah and His Beloved Prophet (peace be upon him). And because our worship is accepted, Allah, in His mercy and glory, bestows a good reward on it. (SubhanAllah).
May Allah Almighty grant us the Tawfiq to follow His Hukam, Noor Mujassam, Habibullah, Huzur Pak Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam with His Sunnah Mubarak and Ekhlas. Amen.
