How pollution affects photosynthesis

• Pollution is a great factor damaging our environment, as it has substance that are harmful and poisonous effects that contaminates.

• There are three kinds of pollution, air pollution, water pollution and land pollution.

• Pollution can affects the ability of the plants to undergo photosynthesis by physically damaging the leaves where it occurs. Ozone causes a condition called chlorosis that will turn the leaf color yellowish. It means it is insufficient in chlorophyll. This chlorophyll is a vital substance to photosynthesis.

• When the leaves of the plants is color green, then chlorophyll substance is present. Chlorophyll a green pigment found in mesosomes of cyanobacteria of algae and plants. It is essential to photosynthesis allowing plants to absorb energy from the sunlight.

• Air pollutants have primarily affects on plant growths, through interfering resource accumulation. Hence leaves are in close contact with the atmosphere, many air pollutants such as O3 (Ozone) and NOx (Nitrogen Oxide). They can affect the metabolic function of the leaves and interfer with the net carbon fixation by the plant canopy.

• Land pollution also affects plants growths because without natural minerals in soil plant will not grow either.

• Water pollution also affects plant growths because polluted water will distroy the plants, absorbing the toxic substance on it.

Without Photosynthesis we can't have oxygen, as it converts the carbon dioxide and water into glucose and oxygen. The natural phenomenon of nature, will always bring us wonders.

That's why keeping environment free from pollution is a must.
