Artificial intelligence and its unpredictable threats: Will it dull our problem-solving skills?

Think about it, how many of us can go a week without a phone? Those days when we memorized phone numbers are already a thing of the past. Technology has made our lives so much easier and has connected us to it so much that we do not know how to take our next step without it. It is clear that being so dependent on artificial intelligence blunts some of our abilities, especially our problem-solving skills. How Does? Let's see together!

Artificial intelligence algorithms; It has transformed everything from online shopping to our driving experience. There are even software that can write poetry and test the accuracy of scientific articles. With personal assistants supported by artificial intelligence, from Siri to Alexa, it is now possible to handle your daily work as if you are talking to a real person, without worrying about it. You can manage the house with your virtual assistant and even ask him to make an appointment with you. You don't have to pay attention to where you're going, even when you're driving or walking. Because GPS will tell you where to turn every time. You do not need to open a book or search for something on the Google search engine to access the information. Just ask your personal assistant the question. He or she will do the necessary research for you and come up with a solution.

Instead of keeping the information in our brains, we leave the strings in the hands of artificial intelligence so that it can think for us. We don't know where is the right direction, or sometimes we can't even answer a simple question. All we have to do is consult our device. Then we saw that we started to live our lives on autopilot.

How does artificial intelligence affect our memory?

So let's come to the real question: Will artificial intelligence really take humanity to a higher point? Will it help us overcome the limits of our memory? Or will it make us lazier and take away our problem-solving skills?

When we are exposed to vast amounts of data, like the ocean, we have to push ourselves; so our brain works faster. It is assumed that human intelligence increases with each generation compared to the previous one. Artificial intelligence can help us speed up our information processing skills. However, in an environment where the flow of data and information accelerates, it is obvious that people's decision-making process is also difficult. People tend to make more mistakes when making choices when information is limited.

What if artificial intelligence disappeared from our lives overnight? According to the BBC, in 1995 less than 1% of the world used the internet and it was so interesting to even think about a life connected to the internet… Now more than half of people are connected to each other! Returning to our question, what would happen to humanity? Apart from attacking economies, would the absence of artificial intelligence in our lives make us less “intelligent”, would we have to face our problems that we were not involved in the solution? Tell me, how would you go to a friend's house who just moved into a new house without Google Maps? How could you carry out your scientific research? How could you find the receipt of the new cutlery you bought? The list goes on and on… How much of what we have learned since artificial intelligence came into our lives would be left to us? We wouldn't go back to the primeval era, would we?

Only time can show us the effects of artificial intelligence on humanity; but if we want to move humanity forward in the best possible way, we must always be in control... We must think once again about the unforeseen consequences of artificial intelligence and the dangers it may bring.

The thought of robots with integrated artificial intelligence taking an active role in daily life scares me for the future of humanity!

I think this situation scared us all. It is obvious that there will be robots in most sectors in the future.

AI is a tool and the use of tools always makes us weaker. Why? Because tools reduce our training. It goes for muscles as well as brain. Nature is economic, what we don't use atrophies. So, in my opinion AI is a threat, yes.

I don't think we should exactly call it a threat. I think it has beneficial aspects for humanity. In addition, the more we can benefit from such products, the more profitable we will be.
