Family goal / Family mission

According to Stephen R. Covey, good families spend 90% of their time wandering astray. Even the extraordinary ones… If they know what their goal is, what the “right path” looks like, they will come back to it again.

During life, we are affected by various circumstances - some good, some worse… There are stumbles and diseases, misunderstandings, growing up, searching… Families face many challenges…

In the book Seven Habits of Successful Families, Covey compared life to flying an airplane. Before the flight, the pilot has a flight plan. He knows where he is going and is moving according to plan. During the summer, wind and rain, turbulence, air traffic, human and technical errors and various other factors that cannot be predicted occur. The pilot deviates from the set course, maneuvers, deviates from the set…

If something truly unpredictable and difficult happens, the plane will still happily arrive at its destination, thanks to the pilot's skill, vision, composure, plan and ability to get back on track.

A similar thing happens with families. Relationships in families are rarely perfect. Various circumstances force us to deviate from the right path. Do we have in mind the goal and mission of our family - family together, support and encouragement to achieve our life goals, creating an atmosphere of love, kindness and happiness in our home, patience and understanding for each other, mutual help, trust, closeness, wise use of your time, talents and abilities… and other… - then we will always know how to get back on the right path.
