According to the Incheon Maritime Police Station on the 18th, at 1:02 am on that day, a soldier of Chinese nationality A (32, male) jumped into the sea near Gunpyeong Port in Ganghwa-gun, Incheon, and reported it to the police.
Upon receiving the report from the police, the Incheon Coast Guard dispatched a rescue team and found Mr. A at 2.7km northwest of Gunpyeong Port.
He then moved Mr. A to a nearby hospital, but Mr. A died.
Mr. A was found to have suffered from a tide after being rescued when his girlfriend B(36) of Chinese nationality jumped into the sea saying he would make an extreme choice.
It is said that Mr. B went into the sea and then escaped the sea by himself when Mr. A followed.
An official at Haekyung said, "The sea near Geopyeong Port is strong and it is not easy to come out once it falls into the water."
