*KEY VERSE:*

“(28) Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. ,[29]Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. (Matthew 11:28-29 )

When you talk of an invitation, consideration must be given to the nature, the personal, and the competence of the host. An invitation is often a formal request, with an incentive for the invitee to be present, and to participate.

It is an invitation to what the host or hostess considers weightier; the host is always aware that the invitees do have other matters, “I have just married my wife,” (Luke 14:16-24), very justifiable reasons.

The best invitation is that from God into a relationship with Himself whereby our vile, depraved, and blighted human nature is altered and made fit to receive unfettered access into all of God's uncommon provisions in this life and for all eternity.

You have been offered a royal invitation by the King of all kings and the Lord of all lords; this invitation is by King Jesus Christ.

Every invitation carries with it the very characteristics of the host; what you find by your hearty response is exactly what is contained in the host. However, the ultimate purpose of the invitation is perpetual and ceaseless fellowship with the Master (Mark 3:14).

The reward is irresistible: Rest. That means the end to all the conflicts and hostilities that have ravaged and destroyed your life. In the absence of rest, you have only a continuation of persistent troubles, depression, frustration, disappointment. But note this, Jesus offers you respite from all of that today.

Come, He keeps His promises; come, you can trust Him to help you. Follow Jesus today and witness an end to all the exploitations and bondage your life has known due to sin and sensual pursuit. Respond to Jesus today, the strife and warfare will cease. Peace and rest will be the abiding experience of your life from now.

*CONTROLLING THOUGHT:*

Peace that transcends all understanding is what we get when we respond to God’s invitation.

*PRAYER:*

Lord, may I never spurn Your loving invitation. Amen
