Gender Inequality

Hello everyone, in this article I'll be sharing with you my thoughts on gender Inequality. I would also appreciate if you could join the discussion in the comment section. Gender inequality is a poison to our society, it poisons people's thought and perspectives.

Gender inequality is the idea that Men and Women are not equal. These difference arises from distinction in their biological and psychological norms. Studies has shown that the different lived experience of genders across the world includes education, life expectancy, personality, interests, family life, careers, in political affiliations, even in house chores. **CAUSES OF GENDER INEQUALITY** **Unequal Pay**: For decades, women have earned bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees, and doctorate degrees. Yet women in the workforce still earn less than their male counterparts. How much less? you may ask.

**Sexual Harassment:** One major issue that many women face in the workforce is sexual harassment. Either from a co-worker, employer, or even a customer. **Racism**: Race plays a major role in how women are treated and compensated in the workplaces and everywhere they are.

Gender inequality affects everyone. Children It affects their sense of self from a young age. Boys receive 8 times more attention in the classroom than girls. Girls receive 10% less pocket money than boys. Children classify jobs and activities as specific to boys or girls. Young people It affects their behaviour, study choices, ambitions and attitudes about relationships. Girls are less likely to do advanced maths subjects in their final years of. Girls are less likely to participate in organised sport. Older people Women retire with half the savings of men. It affects women's financial security, health and wellbeing.  More older women are at risk of homelessness than men. Women with disabilities This set of women are more likely to experience family violence and sexual assault. They are more likely to be unemployed or underemployed. Now that we know it's cause, let's look at some possible ways to stop gender inequality. Stop child marriage and sexual harassment. Empower mothers. Give adequate value to women’s work. Encourage women into non-traditional vocations Listen to women and girls. Respect their decisions. Get women into power STOP the violence against women and children. Thanks for reading...
