1 Learn what you need to learn only. You don't have to know all the English vocabulary to speak good English. You don't have to exhaust yourself for things that you may not even need. If you keep trying to know all the English words, you may never come to the end. Take it easy.
2 Set goals. One of the most important things you need to do is to determine the level of English that you want to have. Do you just want to be able to communicate in English? In this case, having a basic knowledge of grammar and knowing the most commonly used expressions and vocabulary will do. With time and practising what you already know, your knowledge of English and how to speak better will improve. Learning in-depth words and sophisticated vocabulary, in this case, is a waste of time. Bottom line: focus on what you need, not what is out there.
3 Do you want to speak strong and one hundred percent correct English? Then in this case, you need to a good if not excellent knowledge of grammar. Plus, your bank account of vocabulary, information and ideas should be immensely large, but that's not enough. You also need to be able to use what is in your bank account of information and vocabulary correctly and properly in different situations.
4 Be honest with yourself. Determine the level you want to reach. Once you do that, work and learn according to what that level requires. Don't waste your time on learning what you don't need. Again, be clear and frank with yourself and know where you are heading. Have a direction. That's because when you know where you want to reach, your efforts and time will be spent only on things that serve your destination.
