GMO is stand for Genetically Modified Organism, they are all over the world and maybe your favorite food, fruits, vegetable is GMO!.

To understand more about GMO's (Genitically Modified Organisms) we were dig differ and to understand the current issue about this food security problem.

Hi Im Eunoia, your wise speaker. If you have'nt yet read my pilot article please feel free to read. I explain there my topics and what is ongoing issues in Agriculture. We gonna unluck the secret and feed your curiosity about plant, focusing food.

Eunoia is termed as Wise thinking, and Its not only me but us. We are all Eunoia, think wise.

Why GMO?

To actually understood the issue we need to dig differ what is the problem. In early age, people think its not a problem but year by year it becomes huge and more complicated. Its food security.

The more human exist the more we must produce food to ensure the survival of our species. Hunters actually think that animals will be unlimited, they catch as many as they can to be said a great hunter.They dont need to plant because fuits is available every where. Its a free world.

But then food becomes limited, animals become rare bacause of too much hunting and human learn to tamed animal. In the history, says that pegion is the first tamed animals.

Human become Herders (Pastol). Later on, human tame another specie. The plant. Grain and cerial, but we were going to emagine that this plant wasnt look like what we'd seen this days.

Later years, more and more humans are gave birth and become nation. Food again become limited, so humans as great thinker find ways to breed plant. They first discover breeding on animals and want to try in plant.

In early times, no genetic has been discover yet. Humans use grafting as the breeding technique. (Grafting is addition of plant part whether stem or buds to another plant).

Humans succesfully graft few plant and discover not all plant could be grafted, and remain unsolved untill the discovery of plant name, kingdom, species, and family.

Leguminosae (Legumes) is only be grafted on its own family. Solanaceae (Night shade plant) includes tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) could be grafted to eggplant (Solanum melongena) becuase they are under same Family.

And back to why GMO? Humans evolve to highly educated species and they discover lots of problems that lead to creation of GMO.

What are those problems?

Color- we have better appitite if the fruits or vegetables are pleasing in our eyes.
Shape- who want a bizzare looking fruits or vegetables?
Size- the bigger the one fruit the more humans could be fed.
Taste- Bitterness or sourness could be changed to sweetness.
Resistance- wether pest or water resistance. Resistance to disease is very much important to provide the desired quantity to fed the humanity.

The only way to correct the problem is to use different kind of researched specimens. Gene transfer or gene coding reverse method.

The GMO Plants

The very first GMO is Tobaco in 1983. They uses agrobacterium (bacteria) to create a new plant specimen that is resistant to bacterium that causes the rotting of its leaves to have a higher yield because demand of tobacco is increasing

As of 2016, many more agricultural crop like soybean, maize, canola and cotton that has been developed to have the traits of herbicide tolerance, insect resistance or both.

The GMO Issue

In my article we focus on issues, debates and unseen and untold stories. And in GMO is controversial issue in history of modern Agriculture.

Plant becomes resistance to Herbicides, so frequent use of chemicals had been applied, Herbicide (Weed killers) has no effect in the main plant anymore even we used tons of Chemicals.

Its has environmental issues and human consumption problems. Chemicals kills not only the air but polluting the water and the soil. And comsuming the product is contaminating the body who eats.

So were lucky that government uncover the issue and ban the use of high toxic chemicals.

In other side of the issue lays the good effect. Canola is used for making oil for cooking and other by-product. Using the GMO, oil content of canola increases so more products and by-product is released. And yes, we were consuming GMO in our entire life.

Other problem solve by GMO is a problem of Tomato. The handling and packaging farm to market. Tomato is very perishable (easy to spoiled) with the use of GMO it prolongs the freshness, improved flavor and taste, and its size. Mostly GMO tomato are those processed tomato souce readily available to human comsumptions.

Thoughts

Is GMO is bad or not? At first its bad for environment and health, but further development lead to some great results and more chance of human to defeat hunger.
