The little boy at the riverside

In a remote village, lived a boy, ago. He was an orphan. The only heritage he had from his late parents were a hut situated at the bank of the river, a canoe and a throwing net. He would go fishing to have something to eat.

One day, he went fishing as usual, there came a great storm, and the waves arose in the river. He was greatly distressed. Suddenly, a spirit from the water came to him. He trembled at what he saw.

"Don't be afraid" the spirit said to him, "name what you want, you shall have it. I have watched you long enough" the spirit added. The boy answered "I want to live in a choice house, where I will have everything and lack nothing".

After some time that the spirit left, there was calm in the river.

The spirit granted the boy's wish after seven days...
