My speculation: A lot of DeFis would turn out scam and so do the NFTs. I can't imagine create value out of thin air without any market demand and supply. I'll wait till people start complaining.

We are in the beginning of new technologies and I think the opposite. Early adopters will reap the most value. Of course there is noise within DeFi and NFTs, but if you choose wisely you can strike it big, same with cryptocurrencies when getting early in the game.
