*🙏The Word Daily Devotion 🙏*

(Global Evangelical Church)

*📖WHATEVER WE DO*

👉(Reading: Colossians 3:18-25)

🗓Wednesday, July 29

📜Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving *Colossians 3:23-24 (NIV)*

📋Everything we do in this world has its consequences and rewards. That is why we must not just do anything without thinking of the consequences. The outcome of anything we do can have positive or negative effects on us; sometimes even affecting our family and the larger society. It is therefore very important that our lives are guided by a certain principle, belief or code of ethics. The Apostle Paul’s guiding principle in today’s reading is that of doing everything as unto the Lord and not for his personal gain. Knowing that God is omnipresent, Paul decided that he would not do anything that will displease him. God therefore is his guiding standard in life. If it will not please God, he will not do it no matter the consequences. A preacher once said that when people are going to a commit crime, they look around to see whether somebody is seeing them but one thing they fail to do is to look up, forgetting that God is up there seeing everything. What is it that guides your decisions and actions? Is it what the majority are doing or what will please the Lord?
