*📖HE IS FAITHFUL*

👉(Reading: Hebrews 10:19-24)

🗓Sunday, August 2

📜Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful *Hebrews 10:23 (NIV)*

📋Faithfulness is very important in any human relationship. Wives cry for faithful husbands; likewise, husbands look for faithful wives. Employers demand faithful employees. Even criminals look for faithful accomplices. In the same way, worshippers demand a faithful deity. When it comes to Christianity, God is the first to present himself as the faithful God. In Deuteronomy 7:9, Moses told the people of Israel, “Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments”. God affirms to us that he is faithful, in order that, we who follow him would not doubt or waver in our faith in him. To say God is faithful means that he stands by his word—he never lies. His promises concerning us are always “yes”. It also means that everything else may change but God’s promises remain the same. That is why Hebrews says that Jesus Christ is the same today, yesterday and forever. Today’s text is calling on us to hold on unswervingly to the hope we profess in Christ because our God is faithful. Paul affirms this in 1 Corinthians 1:9, “God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” Are you having any cause to doubt God? Are things not working for you? Remember, God is still faithful.
