*📖STOP TRUSTING IN HUMAN BEINGS*

👉(Reading: Isaiah 2:12-22)

🗓Wednesday, July 22

📜Stop trusting in human beings, whose life’s breath is in their nostrils. For why should they be given special consideration? *Isaiah 2:22 (NLT)*

📋God expects his children to trust in him alone. He declared explicitly to the people of Israel that he is a jealous God. He will never share his glory with anyone. Human beings however, find it difficult to trust in God alone. Ironically, we prefer to trust in our fellow human beings who are as frail as we are. Human beings give us false hope by promising us what they don’t have. In today’s text, Isaiah warned the Israelites of an imminent judgment. God was furious because instead of trusting in him alone, they had turned to Damascus to follow false idols. King Ahaz who was to lead the people to God had instructed Uriah the priest to build an altar he saw when he visited Tiglath-pileser, king of Assyria (2Kings 16:10-16). King Ahaz was so captivated by the prosperity and power of Assyria that, he thought following their gods would give him success. The folly of trusting in man is that God can take their breath away from them anytime. God can destroy the king of Assyria and all their gods in a split second. The people we trust in can die at any time. Have you been trusting human beings rather than God? Stop it! Put your trust in God alone.
