*📖ROOTED IN CHRIST*

📜Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving *Colossians 2:6-7 (ESV)*
📋I was fascinated by the piece of land that is in front of the mission house when I arrived at my new station. With rains coming in earnest, I decided to plant cassava. To my disappointment, I realized the soil is clay. Though the cassava shot up the roots could not get deep into the soil. As they grew up, a little wind forced the roots to hang in the air. This is what happens when we are not rooted in Christ. Christ is the fertile soil on which our faith is planted. As we study, meditate on his word and follow him in prayer daily, our roots are firmly established in him so that we are able to withstand any storm that comes our way. In today’s text, Paul admonished believers not to stop at the level of receiving Christ alone. They must also continue to form roots which will get them established in their faith. Paul continued that the source of their growth is in the things they were taught from the beginning. As believers, we must not neglect the basic truths we have learnt. Those basic truths are fundamental to our victory in Christ. Are your roots firmly grounded in faith in Christ?
