*📖MY SHIELD IS WITH YOU*
👉(Reading: Psalm 7:1-10)
🗓Friday, July 17
📜Oh, let the evil of the wicked come to an end, and may you establish the righteous—you who test the minds and hearts, O righteous God! My shield is with God, who saves the upright in heart *Psalm 7:9-10 (ESV)*
📋The true child of God is the one who does not fear the wicked but trusts fully in God’s protection. There are too many Christians today who fear the devil more than God. They have magnified the power of the devil and are crumbling under his machinations daily. Unfortunately, leaders who should build the faith of believers in the Lord are making situations worse. The purpose of some of these leaders is to hold people hostage, keep them in perpetual fear so that they can manipulate them to their selfish advantage. This should not be so. Christians must know that the God we serve is the most powerful and that he has sworn by himself to protect us. In fact, God owes us his children the duty of protecting us just us parents owe their children their safety. The attitude of the Psalmist in today’s reading is a positive one; it is the attitude of depending and trusting fully in God for protection. The Psalmist gladly and confidently declared that his shield is with God. The shield is a weapon used for self-protection and the Psalmist knows that his weapon of defense is with God who will never renege in his duty of protecting him. Do you feel threatened? God himself is your shield.
