📋Christians who look back after coming to Christ hardly return in good shape. Whether a Christian can be saved and later lose salvation and afterwards repent and be saved again is a debate rightly left for its participants, as long as they speak God’s mind. With the sound of that debate on my mind, our focus verse brings back a sad childhood memory, where a peer of mine in an African village, fell into a latrine pit. A rope was let down to pull him up; just at the brink of coming to the surface, his strength failed him, the rope slipped from his grip and, splash! He fell back this time further deeper into the pit. Sad moment: I saw maggots cover my friend’s face, mouth and his hair was soaked in smelly, fermented human waste. Why will someone having escaped the hold of sin, recklessly give up and fall back into it? When we ignore the fundamental faith reaching only for the blessings while ignoring holy living, sin catches us. Blessings make us glad but it is only true faith in God which sustains us. Are you really surrendered to Christ? Do not backslide!
_*🛐Meditation And Prayer:*_ Lord, help me to stand in you without looking back, so that I can attain your crown of victory reserved for the saints.
