*📖SUBMITTING TO GOD’S WILL*

👉(Reading: Matthew 6:5-14)

🗓Wednesday, October 14

📜This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father …hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven… *Matthew 6:9-10 (NIV)*

📋The Lord’s Prayer seems to some people as a mere recital on Sundays, but some others pray it from a believing heart that is sincere and submitted. We call this The Lord’s Prayer, not because Jesus prayed it, but because Jesus taught it. Prayer generally depends on a spiritual relationship that enables us to call God, “Father” through faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 8:15-16). In today’s text, we discover that prayer involves submitting to God’s lordship over our lives as our King and yielding to his will. This implies that we do not pray to get man’s will done in heaven but to get God’s will done on earth. This also means asking God to use us to accomplish what he wants so that his name is glorified. Christians should, therefore, know and obey the word of God, which directs us to the will of God. Do not separate prayer from the word, as they are closely interwoven. God is committed to honouring prayers that are in line with His will and purpose (1 John 5:14-15). As a child of God, do you always seek to do your Father’s will? Have you surrendered yourself to His lordship?
